Why Pay for a Color Laser Printer if You Don’t Need It?
The price of quality laser printers are dropping in price like Valerie Bertinelli waistline on Nutri-System. Yesterday I saw a solid HP unit at Staples for just $250 bucks. I nearly bought it until I started pricing toner. It was ridiculous. For the 4 cartridges I would have needed I would have spent another $600. Suddenly that $250 printer wasn’t so cheap.
The next day while I was looking around the interwebs I came across the new WorkForce 600 wireless printer by Epson. It is definitely worthy of addition to our office. Not only does it work as photo printer, copier, fax and scanner but it is absolutely loaded with features. The WorkForce 600 has Wi-Fi and Ethernet networking compatibility, a built in memory card reader, a 2.5″ LCD screen to preview photos and includes an auto document feeder. Oh yeah, it can print up 38 a pages per minute.
Epson claims the WorkForce 600 prints twice as fast as the nearest competitor and with laser quality. We look forward to our unit arriving to test these claims. Color laser printers certainly have there uses in place that print in high volumes, but most small business or home offices don’t print in enough quantity to ever realize the cost savings. If you fall in this category, the WorkForce 600 could be the perfect choice.
